Dr. Michael Metzner is an aesthetic and concierge physician known for combining advanced medical knowledge with an artistic eye. Before entering medicine, he cultivated a rich creative background—acting in television and theater, composing music as an accomplished pianist, and working professionally as a fashion and fine-art photographer and medical illustrator. These artistic experiences continue to shape the way he studies faces, understands proportion, and creates subtle, natural aesthetic results.
Dr. Metzner earned dual degrees in Biological Chemistry and Visual Arts from the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University, where he was a Henry Morrison Flagler Scholar, one of only five students chosen nationally. He was later inducted into the Florida Atlantic University Alumni Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Alumni for his contributions to both medicine and the arts. He received his M.D. from the University of Central Florida, where he was honored as one of the university’s “30 Under 30,” presented by Walt Disney, and founded Arts in Medicine, a program dedicated to bringing creativity, music, and visual arts into the healthcare environment.
He continued his medical training in general surgery at UT Health San Antonio, gaining an advanced understanding of anatomy and tissue behavior that now informs his careful, anatomy-driven approach to aesthetics. In clinical practice, Dr. Metzner is known for his patient-centered philosophy: he listens closely, prioritizes safety and education, and partners with patients to create results that align with their identity and aesthetic goals. His ability to deliver refined, undetectably natural outcomes has made him a trusted clinician for individuals working on camera as well as those simply seeking a refreshed, confident version of themselves.
Alongside his aesthetics practice, Dr. Metzner has built an accomplished career in the entertainment industry, serving as a producer and medical advisor on more than 200 episodes of scripted television and film. He is currently supervising producer on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. His expertise in storytelling, narrative clarity, and medical accuracy has made him a respected voice at the intersection of healthcare and media.
Dr. Metzner also serves on the Board of Trustees at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he supports programs that foster interdisciplinary learning and encourages emerging creatives and clinicians to explore the connections between art, science, and innovation.
