Botulinum Toxin
Neuromodulators: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Letybo®, and Daxxify®
Neuromodulators are one of the most trusted, effective, and widely performed aesthetic treatments in the world. When expertly administered, they soften lines, prevent deeper wrinkles from forming, and create a refreshed, natural appearance—never frozen or overdone.
At Metzner Aesthetics, treatment is individualized. Choosing which product, where to place it, and how much to use is just as important as the injection itself.
What Are These Treatments?
Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, Letybo®, and Daxxify® are all botulinum toxin type A–based neuromodulators. While they share the same core mechanism, each has unique characteristics that allow your provider to tailor treatment to your facial anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals.
Think of them as different instruments in the same orchestra—each plays a slightly different role, and the best results come from knowing when to use which.
How Do Neuromodulators Work?
Facial lines form over time from repeated muscle movement—smiling, frowning, squinting, and raising the eyebrows. Neuromodulators work by:
-
Temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles
-
Reducing excessive movement that causes wrinkles
-
Allowing the skin to smooth and rest
-
Helping prevent wrinkles from becoming deeper or permanent
Results are gradual, natural, and reversible, with effects typically beginning within days and improving over 1–2 weeks.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
Neuromodulators are appropriate for a wide range of patients, including those who want to:
-
Soften existing fine lines or wrinkles
-
Prevent early signs of aging
-
Maintain a refreshed, well-rested appearance
-
Improve facial symmetry or balance
-
Treat medical concerns such as jaw clenching or excessive sweating
You don’t need “deep wrinkles” to benefit. Many patients start neuromodulators preventively to preserve youthful skin and reduce the need for more invasive treatments later.
Areas That Can Be Treated
Neuromodulators can be used in both cosmetic and functional areas, including:
-
Forehead lines
-
Frown lines (between the brows)
-
Crow’s feet
-
Bunny lines (nose)
-
Lip lines / lip flip
-
Downturned corners of the mouth
-
Chin dimpling
-
Jaw slimming (masseter muscles)
-
Neck bands (platysmal bands)
-
Nefertiti lift ("Neck Lift")
-
Jaw clenching or teeth grinding (TMJ)
-
Excessive sweating (underarms, hands, feet)
-
Trapezius
Add Botox to micro needling procedures to:
-
Reduce pore appearance
-
Decrease excess oil production
-
Improve skin smoothness
-
Soften very fine, etched lines
Every treatment plan is customized—your anatomy, muscle strength, and facial movement patterns matter.
Why There Are Different Products
While all neuromodulators relax muscle activity, subtle differences allow for customization:
-
Botox® – The most established and widely known option
-
Dysport® – Often diffuses more broadly; great for larger areas
-
Xeomin® – Highly purified, with no accessory proteins
-
Letybo® – Newer option with excellent precision and predictability
-
Daxxify® – Designed for longer-lasting results in select patients
Your provider will recommend the best option—or combination—based on your goals, anatomy, and desired duration.

Our Philosophy
At Metzner Aesthetics, neuromodulators are not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Every face tells a different story. Our approach prioritizes:
-
Precision over volume
-
Balance over overcorrection
-
Long-term facial health and harmony
The goal is not to erase expression—but to refine, soften, and enhance it.
